Hotel Dolomiti Lodge Alverà in Cortina d’Ampezzo stands out for its harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, aesthetics and nature, traditional Alpine style and design. The Alverà family began working on the boutique hotel ten years ago in collaboration with architect Matteo Thun, then after a hiatus completed the project with Bolzano-based architecture firm Moreno Trisorio. The interior design aims to combine the warmth of the Alpine tradition with the practicality of modern amenities.
Described by architect Moreno Trisorio as „a small but visually striking hotel“, it offers stunning views of the Ampezzo Dolomites. The hotel has a total of ten guest rooms, including two suites with a private sauna and Turkish bath, as well as an elegant restaurant with a panoramic terrace and a large wellness area with swimming pool, Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, experience showers and relaxation spaces.
These interiors stand out for their modern, cosy style dominated by wood alongside designer furniture such as the Pack faux-fur upholstered sofa from Edra in the lobby and various items made by local craftsmen. A number of porcelain and wall tile collections from the Italian company Marca Corona were chosen for the spa area and the guest bathrooms. These include white Overclay and silver Arkistone stone-effect tiles on the bathroom floors; Victoria wood panelling; the Lilysuite series inspired by the beauty of nature and the indoor garden trend; the Soul Bay line and the opulent Foyer Royal marble-effect slabs. The outdoor pool features visually-striking stone-effect ceramic surfaces from the StoneOne collection. While these individual collections are very different in terms of their aesthetics, they are all eco-friendly and deliver the high levels of performance necessary for hospitality projects, including resistance to mechanical stress, impact, foot traffic and thermal shock. Marca Corona’s strong environmental commitment is evidenced by the fact that it is a member of the US Green Building Council. Its ceramic tiles are made from raw materials of natural origin and do not contain any harmful plastics or synthetic substances, do not require any chemical surface treatment and do not release harmful volatile compounds. They also contribute to obtaining LEED V4 credits and improve the sustainability rating of the buildings in which they are used. The choice of these materials reflects the hotel’s eco-sustainable vision and its close links with nature and with the traditions of the Ampezzo valley.
