Panariagroup brands garner multiple awards for sustainability and design

At the eighth edition of the Archiproducts Design Awards celebrating international design excellence, Panariagroup’s brands Cotto d’Este and Lea Ceramiche were honoured with three prestigious awards recognising their outstanding aesthetics and design as well as their commitment to sustainable solutions.

Cotto d’Este, the premium brand celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, received the Sustainability Award for its Pura collection, designed to minimise the environmental footprint of the production process. The achievement owed much to the THINk ZERO project, which covers part of the collection. Lea Ceramiche’s Pigmenti collection, designed by Ferruccio Laviani, likewise earned the Sustainability Award together with an Archiproducts Design Award in recognition of its cutting-edge aesthetics based on a perfect blend of research and creativity.

While these awards underscore Panariagroup’s achievements in sustainability and research, the group has reached another milestone in terms of its commitment to the production cycle, use of resources and the formulation of a Sustainability Plan that governs all aspects of the company’s operations. This plan extends beyond industrial activities to encompass human resource management and community engagement, as evidenced by the annual Sustainability Report. The THINk ZERO project, launched in September 2022, aimed to reduce the consumption of energy, water and raw materials in the production of large, ultra-thin panels. The CO2 emissions calculated over the products’ entire life cycle were offset through the purchase of credits to support international sustainable mobility projects, resulting in a 100% carbon neutral product.

“We are delighted to receive these awards, which confirm that we are heading in the right direction,” remarked Panariagroup’s Chairman Emilio Mussini. “These achievements round off an important year in which we have further solidified our position as a major international player. We have completed an extensive commercial reorganisation in the USA as well as two strategic acquisitions in Germany and Portugal, allowing us to expand our distribution network and enhance our product portfolio. The recognition of Panariagroup’s products, such as the Pura collection from our Cotto d’Este brand which was recently included in the ADI DESIGN INDEX 2023 and is now in contention for the prestigious Compasso d’Oro award, underscores the quality we strive to uphold. These initiatives, coupled with our commitment to enhancing our global presence and competitiveness, are pivotal in ensuring our continued prominence in the premium market segment. As a longstanding leader in the industry, we remain dedicated to investing in innovative solutions that enhance the sustainability of our products.”
