Italcer Group obtains gender equality certification

Italcer Group has obtained UNI/PdR 125:2022 gender equality certification issued by Bureau Veritas based on the company’s commitment to promoting inclusivity and developing gender equality policies.

In particular, the Group has successfully adopted a common human resource management system that has enabled it to become the first in its sector to obtain certification for the entire group, which includes five Italian companies: Italcer S.p.A. SB (with its brands Ceramica Rondine, La Fabbrica-AVA, Elios Ceramica and Bottega), Devon&Devon S.p.A., Spray Dry S.p.A., Ceramica Fondovalle S.p.A. and Terratinta Group S.r.l. Benefit.

The Group, one of the world leaders in the industry, is continuing its journey of transformation towards goals that encompass both the common good and profitability, operating in a responsible, sustainable and transparent manner towards people, communities and the environment.

One of the latest initiatives launched by the Group in the field of human resources is the Italcer Corporate Academy, set up in 2020 with the aim of organising training courses geared to specific corporate needs and investing in talent. In 2023, it organised 18,277 hours of training courses aimed at promoting the acquisition of new skills for continuous individual, corporate and social growth. In addition, the Group recently launched a series of welfare policies.

Graziano Verdi, CEO and co-founder of the Italcer Group, explains: “We are delighted to have achieved this result because people have always been at the heart of our organisation, which is founded on policies of equity and inclusivity. We have completed 9 acquisitions in Italy and abroad in recent years, reaching revenues of €355 million and a workforce of over 1,100 employees. We have also achieved synergies and efficiency in our human resource management processes, our primary business driver.”

UNI/PdR 125:2022 certification requires the adoption of KPIs in relation to six areas of assessment for an inclusive and gender-equal organisation: culture and strategy, governance, HR processes, opportunities for growth and inclusion of women in the company, gender pay equity, parental protection and work-life balance.

This reference practice is the result of the work carried out by the Working Table on Gender Certification of Enterprises, coordinated by the Department for Equal Opportunities in cooperation with the Italian Standards Body (UNI). It involved the participation of the Department for Family Policies, the Ministry of Economics and Finance, the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies, the Ministry of Economic Development and the National Equality Advisor.
