(July 2026)Pt. Eleganza Tile Indonesia is one of the leading distributors and importers of ceramic tiles, porcelain stoneware and mosaics in the Indonesian market. Founded in 2002 and active in Indonesia under its current brand name since 2011, the company operates as a commercial subsidiary of the international Eleganza Tiles network (also known as Eleganza USA). It imports tiles, porcelain stoneware and glass and porcelain mosaics from key hubs such as China and Vietnam for distribution throughout Southeast Asia. The company supplies materials for residential and commercial projects, collaborating with architects, builders and interior designers. We asked the President Director of Pt. Eleganza Tile Indonesia, Chen Donal, to tell us about his company, the Indonesian ceramic distribution market and its future prospects.

Mr. Donal, could you give us a brief overview of your company’s history?

Pt. Eleganza Tile Indonesia has established itself as a premium provider of porcelain tiles and other surface covering materials. Driven by the expansion of the Indonesian property sector, we have positioned ourselves not only as a product supplier but also as a brand that delivers tailored design solutions and added value for a wide range of projects.

How many showrooms do you currently operate and how many people do you employ?

We currently operate one main showroom, supported by several business partners in strategic cities to reach our primary markets effectively, particularly in major urban areas. Our workforce consists of over a hundred professionals, spanning sales, operations and the technical teams that support project execution.

What product categories do you mainly focus on?

Our core focus is on porcelain and ceramic tiles, alongside a wide range of surface materials such as porcelain, glass and decorative mosaics. These products are suitable for both interior and exterior applications and cover a broad spectrum of market segments, from functional solutions to premium, design-driven products.

Do you also stock or distribute Italian tiles?

Yes, we also supply imported products to serve the high-end market segment, which values superior quality, refined detailing and distinctive European design.

What trends are you currently observing in ceramic surfaces, and where do you see the biggest opportunities in Indonesia?

Current trends are leaning towards large-format tiles, natural aesthetics such as natural stone and nature-inspired surfaces, and warmer and more earthy colour tones. The biggest opportunities are to be found in the modern residential and hospitality sectors, particularly projects that emphasise design and lifestyle.

How would you describe the design concept and character of your showroom?

Our showroom is designed as an experiential space rather than a mere product display area. We aim to help customers visualise real-life applications of our materials, ensuring that the concept is inspirational, clean and carefully curated. We also offer a virtual showroom and a 360-degree virtual room application to help customers visualise how tiles will look in their own projects.

Who are your main target customers?

Our primary target customers include developers, architects, interior designers and contractors, as well as end-users with a strong awareness of quality and design.

In your opinion, what matters most in building a good relationship with customers?

The most important factors are trust and consistency. Customers are not only looking for high-quality products, but also for reliable partners who can ensure product availability, timely delivery and effective after-sales service.

How would you describe the current distribution system in Indonesia and what challenges do you face?

Distribution in Indonesia is highly complex due to the country’s enormous size. The main challenges we face include logistics, lead-time management and maintaining a consistent supply. Additionally, price competition is intense, so we must carefully maintain a balance between value and pricing.

What’s your view of the current property market in Indonesia?

The Indonesian property market is currently relatively stable, with selective growth. The mid-to-high-end segment remains highly active, while developers are increasingly focusing on efficiency and design differentiation to attract buyers.

Looking at these property trends, how do you see the future of the ceramic industry and what distribution strategies are you adopting?

The outlook remains highly positive due to sustained demand for surface finishing materials. Moving forward, the market will increasingly look for products that offer strong design value, durability and ease of installation. From a distribution perspective, we combine showroom experiences with a project-based approach while continuously strengthening our local distribution network.
