63rd Faenza Prize, the International Competition of Contemporary Ceramic Art is coming up

108 artists from 41 countries on show at the MIC Faenza from 28 June to 30 November 2025

63° Premio Faenza(June 2025) | From 28 June to 30 November 2025 the 63rd Faenza Prize, the historic International Competition of Contemporary Ceramic Art, one of the most important and recognised in the world in this field, will be on show at the MIC Faenza.

In Faenza the visitors will be able to see an up-to-date overview of the international contemporary art scene related to ceramics, a plastic material that has been receiving great attention in recent years. A unique opportunity to admire works from all over the world: from China and Korea to South America.

There are 108 artists selected by the international jury composed of Claudia Casali, Director MIC Faenza, Hyeyoung Cho, Korea Association of Art & Design, Valentins Petjko, Latvian Ceramic Biennale and Marco Maria Polloniato, ceramic art curator, from all over the world who have chosen ceramics as the main medium to express their poetics.

The selected artists, divided into two categories, one young (under 35) and one senior (over 35), come from 41 different countries and cultures.

The Faenza Prize, with over 80 years of history, has from the outset been an important moment in the valorisation, renewal, and promotion of ceramics, both in its artistic and decorative aspects and in its functional and furnishing aspects, but also and above all a way of mapping the state of the art of contemporary ceramics.

“We are very satisfied with the result in terms of participation and quality. – says Claudia Casali, MIC Faenza Director and President of the Jury – The Faenza Prize always proves to be an excellence in the international art scene. The Jury made a selection that took into consideration the topicality, today, of ceramics as a sculptural and installation material. There are poetic novelties and a freshness of presentation remains, conveying the constant artistic update. It will be a tough choice to identify the winners.”

On 27 June 2025, the opening day of the Biennale exhibition, at 6 p.m., the prizes will be announced and presented to the winners.
