A laboratory of excellence for Italian design
(November 2025) | Cersaie 2025 hosted the award ceremonies for the ADI Ceramic & Bathroom Design Award and the ADI Booth Design Award, both promoted by ADI – Associazione per il Disegno Industriale – and organised by the association’s Emilia-Romagna Delegation.
Since 2014, the ADI Ceramic & Bathroom Design Award has honoured the best ceramic and bathroom furnishing products exhibited at the show, while since 2019 the ADI Booth Design Award has recognised outstanding exhibition booths. Based on criteria such as innovation, design quality, sustainability, research and communicative value, the awards testify to the excellence of the products on display and their ability to shape upcoming aesthetic trends.

Award criteria
The citations issued by the jury – composed of designers, journalists, academics and researchers – reveal a design vision that combines technological innovation and sustainability with a strong focus on material research and cultural heritage. In the ceramic and bathroom furnishing sectors, this reflects a growing desire to transform materials into sensory and narrative experiences capable of evoking emotions while meeting functional needs. The natural quality of surfaces, material reuse and design precision are all key values, along with authenticity of texture and aesthetic coherence. In exhibition booth design, by contrast, the prevailing approach is to create immersive, identity-driven experiences that communicate brand values with originality and formal rigour, opening up new expressive opportunities for dialogue between industry, design and culture.
“For us at ADI, these awards represent an extraordinary opportunity to observe firsthand the evolution of design in the world of ceramics and bathroom furnishings,” comments Wladimiro Bendandi, chairman of the ADI Emilia-Romagna Delegation. “It’s a form of scouting that enables us to identify future trajectories and signs of change within a strategic supply chain for Italian industry.”
The objective is twofold: to promote the work of exhibiting companies and to accompany the selected products on their journey towards inclusion in the ADI Design Index, the official pre-selection for the Compasso d’Oro Award, Italy’s most prestigious design accolade.
“Participating in these awards is not just a recognition of merit but also a strategic choice,” continues Bendandi. “It means engaging with the design community, strengthening brand identity and contributing to the promotion of design culture.”
The winners
The ADI Ceramic & Bathroom Design Awards went to Gigacer for Dune, a product that perfectly combines ecological innovation with essential materiality; to Coem for Milano Sublime, a collection that conveys respect for tradition while delivering authentic and engaging material quality; and to Ceramiche Refin for INK, a collection that combines design rigour with perceptual research. In the bathroom category, the awards went to Mamoli for the Marc series, a range of taps that combine innovative technology with well-balanced design; to Itlas for L’Essenziale XLine, a product that harmoniously blends traditional craftsmanship with industrial innovation while engaging synergistically with its surroundings; and to Ardeco by Artesi Srl for LOOP, a sustainable solution that uses glass from recovered photovoltaic panels to create a unique texture. The jury also gave a special mention to Ceramiche Atlas Concorde for Tratto, recognised for the coherence with which its furnishing accessory system interacts with the bathroom environment.
The ADI Booth Design Award went to Cimento for an immersive installation that enabled visitors to fully appreciate the potential of the products on display; to Gruppo Bardelli for bringing together its three brands in a single space that combined quality with formal design elements; and to 41ZERO42 for the powerful visual impact of its booth, which recreated the vibrant atmosphere of Chinatown in just a few square metres with a courtyard area adjoining the ironic and glamorous La Telefonata concept. A special mention was also awarded to Co Rubinetterie for a booth that skilfully showcased multilayer okoume wood.
