Designing professional workspaces

QuattroR, an asset management company that supports the growth and development of Italian businesses through shared investment strategies, entrusted the design of its new Milan offices to the Doboz architecture practice. The goal of the project led by architects Sacchi, Bifulco and Gambigliani was to create interiors that would be both functional and inviting, to “design a space that inspires creativity and productivity while maintaining a sense of timeless elegance”, explains architect Vittorio Bifulco Troubetzkoy.

Defined by a sober, restrained aesthetic, the new Milan offices reflect a carefully curated approach to the choice of colours and surface covering materials. Porcelain stoneware plays a central role in the design and has been used to cover large portions of the interiors. “Its durability and longevity make it ideal for high-traffic spaces like financial offices,” notes Bifulco Troubetzkoy. “At the same time, the extensive variety of available finishes and colours allowed us to create personalised compositions that seamlessly integrate with the overall spatial concept. And last but not least, the visual qualities of porcelain stoneware bring a modern, elegant touch, helping to create a comfortable and welcoming workspace.”

Discussing the colour palette, Bifulco Troubetzkoy adds: “We chose neutral, understated tones to foster a sense of calm and professionalism, while strategically incorporating brighter accents to infuse energy and vibrancy.” The office floors feature the Fresco series from Ricchetti, chosen in the Burnt Umber shade with orange joints, while the bathrooms are clad with tiles from the same series in the Blue Whale shade.

“The decision to use porcelain stoneware from Ricchetti’s Fresco and Ease collections has proved highly successful, not just in terms of aesthetics and functionality but also from the perspective of sustainability, thanks to the short supply chain. The result is a modern, elegant and highly functional workspace that fully meets the client’s expectations. Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback on both the visual appeal and practicality of the spaces, it’s clear that the material choices and overall design have exceeded initial expectations,” conclude the architects.
