In Majorca, where time seems to slow down and the light gracefully caresses every surface, this house captures the authentic essence of Mediterranean living. Located in Alcúdia, a town on the island’s north coast, it embodies an interior design vision rooted in an intimate dialogue between architecture and landscape. The project, led by Almacenes Femenías in collaboration with MFB GmbH, balances rigorous design with sensitivity towards the use of materials and a deep respect for the island’s natural setting and cultural heritage.

Founded in 1940, Almacenes Femenías is now one of the most respected firms in the Balearic Islands. Originally a family business, it has evolved with intelligence and vision to become a benchmark for clients in search of quality, research and craftsmanship in architecture. Each project is a fusion of technique and intuition, a constant pursuit of balance between landscape, function and beauty. This house is no exception: every detail is considered, every element part of a coherent, refined narrative.

At the heart of the home is the sea-view terrace, a space suspended between sky and water that is perfectly suited to a lifestyle open to the horizon. Here, the choice of Timestone stone-effect porcelain stoneware from Cerdisa in the colour Beige with a Grip finish combines aesthetics with practicality. With an R11C slip resistance rating, it is ideal for use in the poolside and other moisture-prone areas. Chiselled edges and a 4D modular layout give the surface an authentic, tactile character, enhanced by the island’s shifting light that brings out its rich tones and textures.

This atmosphere is complemented by the Timestone Modulo Beige 4D floor tiles from Ceramiche Ricchetti used in the areas devoted to relaxation, socialisation and outdoor living. This choice aligns perfectly with the project’s overall identity: sober, durable, naturally elegant and designed to endure and blend into the landscape. This house is more than a retreat: it is a living experience that captivates the senses, where design enhances the landscape without overpowering it, allowing the light, the materials and the Mediterranean spirit to take centre stage. Here, architecture does not impose, it complements. And beauty lies in the simplicity of things done well.
