Located in Blagnac, near Toulouse, this patio and pool area is a beautifully balanced outdoor space where landscape design, architecture and materials interact naturally. It is a space designed to be lived in rather than merely looked at, a welcoming, light-filled environment that resonates with its surroundings and the rhythms of open-air living.

The landscape design treats the exterior as a fluid extension of the home in which every component helps create a relaxed, considered atmosphere. Here, ceramic surfaces serve as the project’s unifying thread, providing continuity, comfort and a sense of material depth.

The designers selected the Kairos collection from Panaria Ceramica, which reinterprets the look of wood through a contemporary lens, capturing its lived-in character and tonal depth without compromising the high level of technical performance of porcelain stoneware. The project features Kairos Anemos in a 40×120 cm format with a 20 mm thickness and “Strutturato” finish. It is a solution that integrates seamlessly into the overall design, harmonising with the vegetation, the pool water and the natural materials of the outdoor furniture.

The surfaces of the Kairos collection help create a warm, immersive environment where the material quality is never merely decorative but rather a tool for generating an essential atmosphere of relaxation. Light plays a fundamental role: the sky reflecting on the water, the soft shadows cast by the pergola and the pale tones of the furniture all amplify the sense of openness and wellbeing. Meanwhile, the ceramic flooring underpins this visual and tactile experience, offering a uniform, welcoming base that enhances the composition without overpowering it.

From a technical standpoint, great care was taken with the installation. To ensure a precise, long-lasting result, a system of adjustable, self-levelling pedestals was used – an ideal solution for compensating for uneven ground and for laying over existing substrates. This approach ensures design flexibility and ease of maintenance while creating a perfectly level surface.

With its 20 mm thickness, Kairos porcelain stoneware delivers the high level of technical performance essential for outdoor use, including resistance to frost, stains and thermal shock, excellent slip resistance and a long-term durability that preserves both its beauty and function. These properties allow the material to withstand daily use without any loss in quality, even when exposed to water, sunlight and shifting weather conditions.

The result is an elegant, relaxing outdoor space that combines design and durability with discreet sophistication. This interpretation of the exterior moves beyond the idea of a simple accessory space, transforming it into a place to be inhabited in harmony with the landscape and a contemporary vision of outdoor living defined by naturalness, comfort and attention to detail.
