Mapei World opens in Buenos Aires
Mapei, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chemical products for the building industry, is opening a Mapei World in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires – a space dedicated to designers to deepen their knowledge of Mapei solutions and find inspiration for their projects, with similar centres also in Paris, London, Milan and Lisbon. Among those attending the opening ceremony were Veronica Squinzi and Marco Squinzi, Mapei’s CEOs, and Fabrizio Nicoletti, Italy’s ambassador to Argentina.
Mapei World is much more than a showroom. It is a space created to strengthen relationships with industry professionals and meet the growing demand for technical updates and specialisation that characterises the construction sector. Architects, designers, engineers, developers and installers will be able to take part in training courses, workshops, technical conferences, product demonstrations and experiences linked to the latest trends.
The project is part of Mapei’s growth strategy and its commitment to stay close to the market in Latin America, focusing on continuous training as one of the main drivers of development in the sector.
“We have great confidence in the Argentine market and its growth potential,” said Veronica Squinzi and Marco Squinzi, Mapei’s CEOs. “We have decided to strengthen our presence in this wonderful country by building a new production plant in the city of La Banda, in the province of Santiago del Estero., Now in its final stages, the project will enhance our production and supply capacity in Argentina, whilst reducing distances and delivery times, thereby minimising our environmental impact. Strengthening our local presence also means being more involved in the region and contributing to the development of the community. This is our way of doing business A clear example is our support, now in its sixth year, for the Lanús project, which, in addition to winning the Copa Sudamericana in 2025 and the Recopa Sudamericana in 2026, promotes educational and sporting programmes for children and young people living in the most vulnerable neighbourhoods through the Club Atlético Lanús Foundation”.
“Today, the construction sector requires professionals with increasingly advanced skills and specialised expertise. Mapei World has been created with the aim of sharing knowledge, fostering innovation and creating an environment of exchange that helps raise the quality standards of projects and works”, emphasised Gabriel Ros, Mapei’s Director for LATAM Cono Sur.
With the new plant in La Banda, Mapei is strengthening its presence in Argentina, where it has been operating since 1999 through two modern plants in Escobar, in the province of Buenos Aires – which also house a laboratory and a training centre – and two logistics centres in the cities of Córdoba and Mendoza.
