Cersaie
In full colour: how to make an interior memorable
(May 2025) | Cersaie, the International Exhibition of Ceramic Tile and Bathroom Furnishings held in Bologna at the end of September 2024, provided the perfect setting for a conversation between Fiorella Baserga, editor of the magazine Suite, and Daniela Colli, founder of the award-winning Rome-based architecture and interior design firm ColliDanielaArchitetto, established in 2009. Known for her bold and expressive use of colour, Colli has developed a distinctive style that stands apart from today’s dominant minimalism. In the course of the discussion, she shared insights into her projects, design choices and relationships with clients, explaining how her unique stylistic approach has become a defining feature of her professional identity and growth.
Her ability to combine a contemporary vision of society and its needs with the historical and cultural origins of interior design results in projects that blend past and future.
Working in sectors from furniture and interior design through to urban architecture, she devotes meticulous attention to detail at every stage from conception to execution. She embraces the unique challenges of each project, whether deriving from the site, target users or client expectations, as an opportunity to evolve her architecture and push creative boundaries.
Widely acclaimed by international critics and recognised as a specialist in the hospitality sector, Colli designs a wide range of spaces, including bars, cafés, restaurants, hotels and spas.
Since 1989, Suite magazine has been documenting the evolution of the hospitality industry through ongoing research into new projects, trends and market dynamics.
