A holistic approach to well-being

The VN Medical Clinic in Modena adopts a holistic therapeutic approach aimed at restoring harmony between body and mind. This philosophy is reflected in the design of the elegant, welcoming spaces, with their soft tones, abundant natural light and dramatic backdrops

VN Medical Clinic, an aesthetic medicine and anti-ageing clinic occupying a space of around 200 square metres on the second floor of an office building in Modena, adopts a holistic therapeutic approach aimed at achieving lasting harmony between body and mind. This same vision guided the design concept developed by Alessandro Pugna and Francesco Panini from Studio Avia Pervia, who sought to create a space that would combine understated elegance with a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere.

The clinic is divided into a reception area, waiting room and treatment rooms illuminated by large windows and skylights, improving visibility and environmental comfort and helping to create a healthier, more pleasant working environment. “Clearly, the natural light enhances the colours and finishes, from the very dark floors through to the coloured wall coverings and the selected material effects,” notes Alessandro Pugna.

The architect chose ceramic tiles from Ceramica Fondovalle for the interiors, using surfaces from the Background, Komi and Infinito 2.0 collections to ensure visual continuity from the waiting areas to the treatment rooms. “We designed four different treatment rooms, each with a different type of surface from the Infinito 2.0 series,” explains Pugna. “This allowed us to differentiate the spaces while maintaining a coherent aesthetic narrative.” The various shades of green in this collection were used to give each room its own character while retaining an overall sense of harmony. Marble-effect textures in a 120×278 cm size and colours River Jade, Emerald Green, Green Denis and White Beauty were used to create dramatic backdrops, combining the natural tones and veins of marble with the technical and aesthetic qualities of porcelain stoneware.

The walls in the waiting area are tiled with geometric wood-effect porcelain stoneware surfaces from the Komi collection, chosen specifically in the Lodge Elegant shade and large 120×278 cm format. In the bathrooms, the Background collection in the colour Caviar was chosen both for the floor in a 120×120 cm size and for the walls in the Line decoration. The result is a bold yet sophisticated surface with a natural, textured feel that retains the essence of stone while offering a minimalist aesthetic and a pleasing tactile quality.
