Awarded by iF International Forum Design GmbH, a historic independent institution that has been active for over 70 years, the award is a universal symbol of quality, innovation, and design value.
Awarded in the Product Design discipline, category 1.22 Bathroom, the HOP washbasin, available in wall-mounted or countertop versions, stood out among over 10,000 entries from 68 countries.
Cheerful, youthful, practical, and compact in size, the HOP washbasin represents a real leap forward in design! The difference in height between the tap surface and the countertop is the key element that inspired the concept of this spacious and welcoming washbasin, in which the interplay of different heights creates a “storage slot” and a functional base protected by a deliberately high and not too thin edge. A study of form and function aimed at creating and expanding the internal space to give greater plasticity and accentuate the three-dimensionality of the washbasin. Aesthetically, the HOP washbasin is based on a parallelepiped, whose outer belt is rather rigid with straight walls and rounded corners, while the inner surfaces are softened by a greater radius.
With its distinctive personality, the HOP washbasin won over the international jury of 129 independent experts. The design conveys a contemporary vision of the bathroom space, where form, innovation, and sensitivity come together to create an authentic experience.
This extraordinary result is testament not only to the extremely high level of competition, but also to SIMAS’ creative strength and ability to transform materials into emotion.
