KOINÈ

The research focused on the transformation into two-dimensional decoration of some characteristic and iconic sculptural forms in Claudia Carpenito’s alphabet: the imperfect semicircle, the oblique line and one element in particular that is inspired by the ancient loops of vases in the region of eastern Apulia, Messapia. It was exactly this meeting of alphabets and symbols that was the inspiration for the Koinè collection, in which artist/designer Claudia Carpenito has once again accomplished a wholly personal synthesis of an ancient language, reducing it to the essential “to carry with you”.
