Gruppo Romani has chosen to support “The Time of the Mountain, ArchitetturaAlpinA in Ten Stories”, a docufilm that transforms contemporary Italian Alpine architecture into a cinematic narrative. Conceived by the Architetti Arco Alpino association, directed by Francesca Molteni and Davide Fois, and produced by Muse Factory of Projects, the film reveals ten locations and an equal number of architectural interventions.
The Italian premiere on Thursday 5 March in Milan launched a programme of screenings across festivals, exhibitions, conferences and other initiatives hosted by the Orders of Architects in the regions involved. These initiatives aim to bring the mountain back to the centre of an architectural and cultural vision. The meeting point between technical expertise and the Alpine environment becomes a laboratory for a new way of living – a vision that embraces culture, ethics and memory.
The projects featured in “The Time of the Mountain, ArchitetturaAlpinA in Ten Stories” include cultural and educational spaces, workplaces, restored villages and other interventions designed to explore transformations in living within mountain areas. The film offers a reflection on the relationship between building practices and landscape, climate change adaptation and regeneration, raising new challenges linked to the essential need for balance.
The film is promoted by the Architetti Arco Alpino (AAA) association, which brings together ten Orders of Architects from mountain provinces in Northern Italy. The association aims to promote design culture and widespread quality, demonstrating how high-quality architecture can become a tool for social, environmental and economic development in Alpine communities.
