In 2019, a Voluntary Agreement was signed by Confindustria Ceramica (representing the Italian ceramic tile producers), the Emilia-Romagna regional government and the municipalities in the Modena and Reggio Emilia ceramic tile cluster.
The document establishes a memorandum of understanding for the reduction of polluting emissions in the cluster.
Analyses conducted by Arpae (Emilia-Romagna regional agency for prevention, environment and energy) have confirmed the overall improvement in air quality due to measures implemented following the signing of the Voluntary Agreement.
