Cervia, the ancient «city of salt», is an elegant Adriatic coastal resort that has maintained its appeal as a historic yet modern city and is one of the most internationally popular Italian tourist destinations. The old fishing village and the large expanse of pine forest celebrated by Dante and Lord Byron witnessed the birth and subsequent growth of this town, which from the late nineteenth century onwards became one of the first to make hospitality and the historical heritage its natural strengths. For today’s visitors Cervia offers the typical features of an Adriatic resort with its broad coastline and fine sandy beaches, as well as monuments of great historic and artistic interest and natural areas of great variety and appeal in terms of flora and fauna. And to welcome tourists exploring these treasures, the town of Cervia alone offers some 400 hotel facilities and ranks fourth in Italy in terms of the number of hotels, along with campsites, apartments and holiday homes. One such establishment is the Hotel Villa Del Mare, a superior four-star hotel that was completely renovated in 2009 and has become one of the most popular hospitality destinations for the relaxation and all-round wellbeing that it offers. Part of the Villa Del Mare Spa Resort complex, the hotel is set in a context of Mediterranean vegetation and offers a full range of amenities and an outstanding restaurant. But above all, the hotel excels for its interior design, architecture and layout, based on a new hospitality formula that caters for many different lifestyles and explores the latest trends in taste and practicality. The geometric lines, the uniqueness of the designer furnishings chosen for the common areas, the dominant white in both the exteriors and interiors, and the façade with its numerous terraces reminiscent of the colonial style of historic holiday resorts, help create a timeless aesthetic that speaks to the emotions of the widest range of customers. The hotel’s desire to stand out is already evident in the spectacular seafront entrance, which winds through a palm tree garden along a walkway paved with fine porcelain tiles from Florim Ceramiche’s Casa Dolce Casa brand, which reproduce the appeal of natural stone in a soft pale gray tone. The bright, elegant paving accompanies guests to the reception area, then continues in the large lounge where the depth and luminosity of the spaces are accentuated by the abundance of glazing and the light, neutral tones of the walls, furnishings and most of the accessories. Attention to detail is likewise evident in the inviting and spacious guestrooms, none of which is smaller than 30 square metres without counting the balconies and bathrooms.
Here the décor is enhanced by the combinations of different textures, materials and colours of the furnishing elements. This sophisticated, exclusive formula is taken a step up in the infinity pool with whirlpool located on a panoramic terrace on the seventh floor of the hotel, from where guests can admire the splendid view while relaxing in the sun.
