Completed in 2025, the Modern Harmony Residence is more than just a single-family home; it is an exercise in understated elegance that combines aesthetics and comfort. “The client wanted a bright, elegant environment that would be functional for daily family life, based on high-quality, durable materials and a timeless design approach,” explains interior designer Sylwia Niemiec.

“One of the key requirements was a sense of visual continuity in the living area, a large open-plan space that serves as the heart of the home,” Niemiec adds. “The choice of materials and colour palette was also influenced by the natural surroundings and the large windows, which flood the space with light and create a strong visual link with the outdoors.”

The result is a “modern interior designed for daily comfort, but also for timeless elegance. It features delicate tones and refined details, such as the champagne-coloured kitchen peninsula, soft fabrics and lighting designed to create different atmospheres throughout the day, adapting to daily routines and shifting moods through a bespoke layout of independent light sources.”

The internal layout prioritises daily use, featuring a main living zone with an integrated lounge and dining area, while the kitchen is tucked into a small niche. The house is equipped with a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery (MVHR), which improves indoor air quality and energy efficiency. “Energy efficiency, durable materials and long-term functionality were key considerations throughout the entire design process,” explains Niemiec, who opted for hard-wearing stone-effect materials to create a mineral aesthetic and a sense of visual continuity. Ease of maintenance and durability were major considerations in the choice of flooring for the living space, where the designer specified the Breccia Aurora collection from Ricchetti, a latest-generation porcelain tile inspired by brecciated marble. It is enhanced by the special Cross finish, which combines an R11C anti-slip surface with ease of cleaning and pleasant tactile qualities. The appearance and format of these tiles are central to the project’s philosophy, allowing for fewer grout lines – a specific request from the client – while also achieving an overall effect of uniformity and elegance. The beige tone, with its multi-coloured speckles and veining, was chosen to evoke the warmth and prestige of iconic marble while harmonising with the interior’s broader palette of beige, gold and black.
