With its approximately 15 kilometre stretch of sandy coastline, its Blue Flag beaches, a successful urban redevelopment project and a wide range of leisure, sports and wellness activities, the town of Jesolo is one of Italy’s most popular summer tourist resorts attracting over 5 million tourists a year. A municipality with a population of around 26,000 people located in the metropolitan city of Venice, it offers a perfect blend of entertainment and relaxation. This philosophy is reflected in the latest housing construction trends and their emphasis on private spaces that combine leisure and tranquillity, socialisation and privacy.
One example of this trend is the swimming pool area built for the new Adele residence, a five-storey condominium designed by Studio Tecnico Basso in a location well away from the noisy summer crowds while offering a wide range of amenities and easy access to all the local attractions. On the ground floor, an outdoor swimming pool area with showers and solarium is available for use by the residents of all twenty apartments, and is the perfect place to relax within the context of this vibrant and bustling town. An infinity pool designed to blend in with the building’s modern, discreet style and extending lengthwise along the entire façade, it occupies a fairly limited space and incorporates a number of custom solutions to critical aspects such as manhole covers. As always, the choice of surface covering materials played a key role in the project and in this case consisted of two lines of porcelain tiles from Cerdisa (part of the Cerdisa Ricchetti Group), namely Punto Zero and Megeve. The Punto Zero collection has a minimalist, compact look and was chosen in a pale milk colour for use inside the pool (60×60 cm), on the access steps, for the drainage channels with customised gratings (30×60 cm) and on the pool edge (60×60 cm). The collection was chosen for both aesthetic and functional reasons. As well as ensuring a bright, elegant overall effect, the surface’s high reflectance minimises thermal load in the summer while ensuring a pleasant touch and excellent anti-slip properties. The second collection, Megeve, was chosen in a warm oak colour (20×120 cm) to enhance the beach look while combining the practicality and safety of non-slip porcelain stoneware with the traditional, reassuring aesthetic of wood. The result is a perfect blend of design and comfort.
